One of the many aspects of a project we enjoy is working with clients to really understand what they are looking for with their kitchen and this can change and develop during the scoping out period – and Chloe’s kitchen is the perfect example.
As a Howdens Assured fitter we arranged for Chloe to visit our local Howdens office to view their range, discuss her requirements and potential layout. All pretty straightforward so far and during their visit Chloe selected navy cabinets and a white quartz worktop.
As a bespoke build company we work with a number of industry professionals and therefore introduced Chloe to Stuart, stone mason extraordinaire, to discuss her options regarding her worktop. Stuart arranged for Chloe to visit one of his suppliers which resulted in Chloe sending us a picture of the most stunning granite called Black Fusion. As the name suggests the worktop was no longer white and we therefore worked with Chloe to determine what was her most favourite item she had seen – and Black Fusion won hands down. On that basis we got to work looking at alternatives for the kitchen units and flooring to ensure they complimented the stunning granite Chloe had selected.
We kept with the Howdens Hockley cabinets but changed the colour to Charcoal with a high gloss finish to reflect the light and black inlays. On the floor we installed Inara Cloud tile which had a very subtle sparkle through it. Lighting was incorporated to different areas and levels of the kitchen to ensure Chloe could select her desired ambiance at any time.
This is a perfect example of how sometimes it only needs one change to elevate a design and as a result more truly reflect the personality of the person whose home it is.
